the TATTOO HEALING RITUAL

WHAT YOU NEED

Tattoo Cleanser

Paper Towel

Cling Wrap

FIRST 24 HOURS

  • Keep cling wrap on for 2 - 6 hours.

  • With clean hands, take off cling wrap.

  • Wash thoroughly in the shower with warm soapy water or Tattoo Cleanser using your hands. Avoid using a cloth, flannel or scrubber as that can affect the healing.

  • Pat dry with paper towel (not a fabric towel)

  • Apply a thin layer of Aftercare Collective Tattoo Balm, enough to leave a nice shiny sheen over the tattoo.

  • Rewrap your tattoo in cling wrap overnight.

next 3 days

  • With clean hands, remove cling wrap each morning.

  • Using your hands, wash Tattoo with Tattoo Cleanser and wipe clean with wet paper towel.

  • Pat dry with dry paper towel

  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm and do so at least 3 times a day. Avoid double dipping.

  • Wash in the shower as above and wrap in cling wrap with a thin layer of balm underneath.

DAYS 4 - 14

  • Wash tattoo once a day in the shower using soapy water and/or Tattoo Cleanser.

  • Lightly apply Tattoo balm whenever the tattoo is feeling dry and until the tattoo is no longer peeling and flaky.

DO'S

  • Wear sunscreen on your tattoo when outdoors once your tattoo is healed.

  • Continue to moisturise your tattoo even after healing to keep your tattoo crisp and vibrant.

  • Contact your artist if you have any questions regarding your tattoo.

  • Cover tattoo with loose clothing during healing.

  • Don't have your tattoo in direct sunlight for long periods of time.

  • Don't or scratch at your tattoo during the healing.

  • Don't soak your tattoo in water for 2 weeks e.g. baths, spas, pools, saunas are a no go zone.

  • Don't exercise the area that's been today for at least 3 days.

  • Don't allow pets or pet hair to go near your fresh tattoo.
